There are many big sporting events over the course of the year, but there are not many which can live up to the hype and the spectacle of the NFL Super Bowl. So, when the NFL Super Bowl 2020 rolled around, we were all excited to see what greatness it would bring, and we were not disappointed.
The performance on the pitch, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Fransisco 49ers was fantastic, with the Chiefs completing an incredible comeback to win to earn their first Super Bowl victory in 50 years. The game was definitely one that will be remembered, but what else will we remember Super Bowl 2020 for?
Well, the performance of Demi Lovato singing the national anthem was very impressive, but unfortunately it will be best remembered for something else. While Demi was giving her all with the national anthem, it was noticed that, while everyone else was standing, music superstars Beyonce and Jay-Z remained seated. Was this some sort of silent protest? Well, no. Jay-Z has since claimed that he and his wife were so into the performance, that they simply did not realise they forgot to stand.
For us though, one of the best things about the 2020 Super Bowl had to be the coin toss. Flipping a coin to determine the start of the game is always exciting, but to have the coin flip done by a 100-year-old war veteran made it so much more special. Col. Charles E. McGee performed the coin toss and he was joined by Staff Sgt. Odón Sanchez Cardenas, Lt. Col. Samuel Lombardo and Cpl. Sidney Walton.
