Tina Fey discusses the possibility of a Mean Girls musical
Tina Fey was still not a well-known name when she wrote and starred in ‘Mean Girls’ in 2004. Of course, the movie has since gone on to become a cult hit and spawn a generation of Mean Girls-quoting teenagers.
While at the SAG Awards, Tina spoke to E! News about a possible ‘Mean Girls’ musical, and she sounded excited about the possibility. She says, “We want to. I would love to. I'm trying to develop it with my husband, who does all the music for 30 Rock and I think Paramount's onboard."
Tina also spoke about the feud between American Idol judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj where they fight over ‘Mean Girls’. Tina said of the feud, “I loved it! And I think Mariah won. Like, Mariah seemed to really know all the characters."
In addition to ‘Mean Girls’ talk, Tina also spoke about playing a host at the Golden Globe Awards and being faced with the Tommy Lee Jones’ iconic stone face. She says, “Every time we came out I felt like, not only was Tommy Lee Jones looking at me, but looking at me like he was so mad at me. But I think that might just be his face." Tina won for Best Actress in a Comedy series tonight at the SAG Awards, and is expected to soon begin work on another show after ’30 Rock’ wraps up.
