Now don’t get me wrong, I like the odd Take That tune as much as the next straight guy (come on guys, you know it’s true) but what is the current obsession with boybands. For a start, they all look like they have more beauty treatments than Mama Bandito (she so pretty).
One Direction are currently taking over the world and screaming girls can be found wherever they go. Yet they are simply not that great. Their vocals are average, their songs are average and to be fair, their looks are average. They all have their own hair and makeup people, yet they are still distinctly average.
Then there is The Wanted, who may not be having quite as much success as the One Direction boys but they are still doing well for themselves. The Wanted also have a huge number of female fans and, although they are better looking than One Direction (I’m not gay, I swear it), their music is worse.
Finally, I’m gonna rant about the latest boyband to ruin the world of music and that is X Factor wannabes Union J. Someone mentioned that they were the best looking boyband ever who can all sing, so I thought I would check them out (definitely straight). However, Union J are simply a One Direction tribute act but an older, poorer version, who wear fair too much make and have ridiculous hair.
Bring back the days when boybands did catchy pop songs, with dance moves and didn’t take themselves too seriously. Arriba!!
