There have been many stars over the years who have benefited from the advantages of getting an education online. With their busy schedules it works perfectly to let them fit the education around their career, giving them something else to fall back on if their career doesn't pan out as expected.

One such person who has benefited from online education is actress Shannen Doherty, who is pursuing a liberal arts degree online. Not only that but Shannen has also become a spokesperson for the college matching site Education Connection.

Shannen Doherty appears in a number of ad campaigns for the site, in which she explains, "Earning my degree online lets me study anywhere any time. It’s like the world is slowing down so I can make better use of my day," in one of the commercials.

As for her acting career, you can next see Shannen Doherty on the big screen, starring with Josh Peck and Keegan Allen in the movie Bukowski, which is written and directed by James Franco and, while there is no official release date yet, it is expected to open in 2014.
