Shailene Woodley prefers a book to television
You would think that when a superstar actress in Hollywood has been nominated for an Emmy Award, then she would know who she is up against, as it is always nice to see whether you actually think your performances stand up to those you are facing. However, that does not seem to be the case for one actress in particular, who just missed out on an Emmy Award this year.
Hollywood actress Shailene Woodley was recently nominated for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series for her performances in the role of Jane Chapman in the impressive television series Big Little Lies. While Shailene did not manage to win the Emmy, she also did not get to see what the performances were like from her rivals, as the actress has admitted that she does not own a TV and much prefers to read a book.
Woodley was speaking on Live From the Red Carpet for E!, when she explained, "I haven't had a TV since I moved out of my parents' house when I was 18. All my friends who watch TV, I just ask them when they have time to," before then going on to add, "I'm a reader. So I always read a book instead of turning on my TV."
It is no secret that Shailene Woodley has a certain dislike towards technology, with the actress previously admitting that she would not even have a cell phone if she could have her way, but her agent has insisted that she needs to keep one on her at all times so that they can get in touch with her whenever they need to.
