Miley Cyrus reveals how her songwriting has grown
It was not too long ago that it kind of felt like music superstar Miley Cyrus was just doing outrageous things in order to get attention, and that she was not actually being herself. However, we have come to love Miley and we have enjoyed seeing her grow and progress, both as a performer, an artist and a songwriter.
Miley Cyrus has been talking about just how much she has developed as a songwriter, admitting that she now looks back at her song Wrecking Ball and is not very impressed with the lyrics at all. Miley says she is still pleased with the music video but that she is lyrically so much stronger than she was back then.
Cyrus was chatting to NME magazine, when she said to them, "I think people look at things that they've done and there is this sense of shame, or 'I wish I wouldn't have done that' - not because I'm naked, by the way; it's because I feel like I'm in a deeper songwriting place. Lyrically I'm less impressed with that song for me right now. I feel like it doesn't reflect who I am now, but that's fine because it's not supposed to."
She added, "I think I have more of an open mind where I'm like, 'OK, I can be a bunch of different things every day', I don't have to be so locked into myself because then I'm putting those walls and borders around myself that I tell everyone else not to give in to."
Miley Cyrus has certainly come a long way since her Hannah Montana days and we look forward to seeing just where her career is going to take her in the future.
