Lucy Liu reveals why she decided to sign on to 'Elementary'

Lucy Liu and Jonny Lee Miller have become A-list television stars with their roles as Sherlock and Watson in the hit CBS show 'Elementary'. Pitched as a re-imagining of the classic Sherlock Holmes story, it was immediately intriguing for fans, but Liu reveals that she had doubts about signing on.

Liu was recently interviewed by Emmy Magazine, and revealed, "I know it sounds crazy, but I was really looking forward to doing a comedy. But one of the main attractions was Jonny."

She adds that she actually refused to sign on until he had done so, but thankfully everything worked out in the end. Miller was also interviewed by the magazine, and added, "If you're going to spend a lot of time with someone, you really need to be able to get on with them. t's nice because we have a very similar sense of humor..."

'Elementary' airs every Thursday, and the next episode called 'Dead Man's Switch' airs on April 25th. All the networks have been deciding which shows to renew the past couple of weeks, and Elementary is one of the locks for renewal as it's been a strong performer for CBS since it's debut earlier last year.
