There have been many occasions over many decades when we have seen Hollywood coming in for a lot of criticism but it is probably fair to say that there has never been such a shocking year like the one that the movie industry experienced in 2017. As well as the constant row about the gender inequalities in Hollywood, there has also been the sexual abuse scandal, which has left a dark cloud over many people in the business.

 

However, while many people have suggested that things are only going to get worse, Hollywood actress Jessica Chastain has insisted that she believes things are going to get better over the course of the next year or so. Jessica says that she is expected a big change in Hollywood and that this can only be seen as a good thing.

 

Chastain explained, "'I want to acknowledge what a difficult year 2017 has been for all of us. Major change is coming. Change is good. Change is needed. Through a joint effort we will make things better. We must be better - and we will."

 

She added, "We have sadly heard a lot about the bad boys of Hollywood, but I would like to send some deserved  love to a few of the good guys with whom I've had the pleasure of working ... I am the actor I am because of your grace and guidance."

 

It will definitely be interesting to see how Hollywood recovers from such a terrible year in 2017 and we have to agree with Jessica Chastain, that things can only get better.
