Jennifer Lopez has revealed that she totally understands what Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are going through at the moment, having suffered a painful divorce herself.
 
“I'm sad for them,” J-Lo told Entertainment Tonight, relating the estranged couple's problems to her own break-up with the father of her twins, Marc Anthony.

Jennifer continued: “They're both really lovely people, and just like Marc and I, it's not what you want to happen. You fight and you try until you realize you can't anymore."

The reality-TV judge said that she had heard about the shocking split whilst she was in South America, confessing that she was "stunned" by the news: "You know I just wish them, you know, peace in their decision," she said.

The Latino beauty added her concerns for the A-list couple's six-year-old daughter Suri saying: "You all become a family and when that breaks apart, nobody wins, everybody's heartbroken in some way – I just wish them peace.”

Jennifer said that she hadn’t been in touch with either Katie or Tom yet, but admitted: "[I’ve] thought about it a lot.”

Jennifer has remained on good terms with her ex, Marc Anthony, for the sake of their two children, Max and Emme. She has since found love again with dancer Casper Smart.
