Emilia Clarke to leave Game of Thrones

English actress Emilia Clarke has become a household name around the world, thanks to her portrayal of the character Daenerys Targaryen in the hit HBO fantasy television series Game of Thrones. However, it appears that Emilia is set to turn her back on the show.

Game of Thrones season two is set to premiere tonight and, while Emilia Clarke is set to appear in the whole of the second season, she has rejected the chance to return for the inevitable third season. That means that a new actress will be needed to play Daenerys Targaryen for Game of Thrones season three.

A Game of Thrones insider explained, “Emilia Clarke has decided to leave Game of Thrones at the end of the second season. She has stated that she wishes to pursue other projects and hopes of becoming a big screen movie star. We would like to thank her for her time on the show and wish her all the best for the future.”

It is expected that there will be a huge fan backlash and that the new actress who will be coming in to take Emilia Clarke’s place as Daenerys Targaryen will never be truly accepted by the Game of Thrones fans.
