Despite the fact that Dakota Fanning is still only 20 years old, the beautiful and talented actress has already been in the movie making industry for well over a decade now, enjoying a long and successful Hollywood career to date. Dakota is one of those child stars who have managed to make the transition into a successful grown up actress, with a number of impressive credits to her name already in her career.

Dakota Fanning already has a number of new movie projects lined up for the coming years but that does not mean that she is not taking on even more acting work. It was recently confirmed that Dakota Fanning has signed up to star in the new movie American Pastoral, which already has a fairly impressive cast signed on, including the likes of Ewan McGregor and Jennifer Connelly.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the story behind American Pastoral, it centres around a successful high school athlete, who grows up and marries a past beauty Queen, while also managing to inherit the family business from his father. However, his life takes a turn when his daughter decided to rebel and become a revolutionary during the Vietnam War.

While Dakota Fanning will join Jennifer Connelly and Ewan McGregor in the American Pastoral cast, the movie will be directed by Phillip Noyce, based on the screenplay that was developed by John Romano from the hit Philip Roth novel of the same name. American Pastoral is set to begin shooting in March 2015, with a release date expected some time in 2016.
