Calvin Harris breaks Michael Jackson record

Calvin Harris is celebrating this week, after breaking a record set by Michael Jackson over twenty years ago. Calvin's latest single has made it into the Top Ten, which means that he has now had eight Top Ten singles from his album 18 Months, breaking Michael Jackson's record of seven.

Harris took to his official Twitter account to tell his fans how delighted he was at his latest achievement. He wrote, "Eight Top 10's from my album 18 Months now! So happy!!!" Calvin also received praise for pulling off something so remarkable.

Martin Talbot, the Official Chart's Company Managing Director, explained, "Many artists only achieve a handful of hits in their entire careers, so for any act to secure three or four from one album is an excellent achievement. In turn, eight top 10's from one album is not just impressive, it is absolutely remarkable. And, of course, record-breaking. Congratulations to Calvin Harris, THE modern-day hit-maker."

Michael Jackson first achieved seven Top Ten singles from his album Bad, which was released in 1987, before then going on to achieve the feat again with his 1991 album Dangerous. Calvin Harris has now had Top Ten hits with Bounce feat. Kelis, Feel So Close, We Found Love feat. Rihanna, Let's Go feat. Ne-Yo, We'll Be Coming Back feat. Example, Sweet Nothing feat. Florence Welch and Drinking from the Bottle, as well as his latest single I Need Your Love feat. Ellie Goulding.
