Bradley Cooper heaps praise on A Star is Born actress Lady Gaga
We have often seen musicians deciding to try their hand at acting and Lady Gaga has had some acting experience on the small screen but she will make her big screen debut in the upcoming new movie A Star is Born. Hollywood superstar Bradley Cooper has a role in the film, as well as directing the project, and Bradley has taken the time to heap some praise on Lady Gaga.
Copper said, "[Gaga] said right from the beginning that there would be a barter. [She said] 'I'm gonna rely on you to get a performance that's honest out of me' - because she'd never done a film before - 'and I'm gonna make sure that you're going to turn into a musician. Because we're going to sing everything live.' And I went, 'Wait, what?' [Singing live] was terrifying, and I really relied on her. I spent about a year and a half taking vocal lessons and preparing."
As well as talking about how impressed he was with Lady Gaga and how he appreciated the help and support she gave him with his singing, Bradley Cooper also went on to talk about his reasons for wanting to direct A Star is Born. Bradley says that he was actually having dreams about the shots he would want for the movie, so made sure that he was given the project.
Cooper added, "The broken love story in 'A Star Is Born' kept haunting me. Shots kept coming into my head. I would dream about it. I realised I had to [direct it], whether it fails or not. I knew I had to try and I wound up absolutely loving it. You can't hide when you sing. The best way to express love is through singing and music. I knew if I could marry that in a way, it would be special."
A Star is Born is set to hit the big screen on October 5 in both the US and the UK.
