Bai Ling compares Chinese cinema with Hollywood

Throughout the decades in Hollywood, we have seen more and more foreign stars heading over to the US in a bid to realise their dream of becoming a famous movie star. One such star, who has enjoyed a long and successful career in the acting industry, is the actress Bai Ling, who has opened up about her journey from Chinese cinema to Hollywood stardom.

She recently explained, "I had done several Chinese films, but I loved New York's vibe and wanted to learn English. So I went there, and initially, it was difficult. But now, when I look back, I see a success story. I want people to believe that dreams can come true."

While Bai Ling has enjoyed a long and successful career in Hollywood, since making the move over to the US, appearing in television shows such as Entourage, Lost and Hawaii Five-0, plus movies including The Crow, Lords of Dogtown and Crank: High Voltage, she has also continued to make Chinese movies.

Dividing her time between Chinese cinema and Hollywood has not been easy, "It's difficult, but it's a great learning process. Hollywood is big on special effects and glamour, while the Chinese make movies driven by emotions and reality," she added.

As for her future, Bai Ling currently has a whole host of movies set to hit the big screen over the course of the next few years, with eight titles currently in production and a further 10 films that are in development. We look forward to seeing plenty more of Bai Ling on the big screen in the coming years.
