Arsenal are reportedly interested in Eintracht Frankfurt's Sebastian Rode as they eye a move for the German star. It is believed Arsene Wenger regards the player very high as he prepares to launch a summer bid of £7.5 million for the player.
The 22-year-old Rode is one of the biggest prospects of German football. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund also would like to have the player as they believe he is one of the rising young stars of the Bundesliga.
It is understood the player himself would like to play in the Premier League instead of switching teams in the Bundesliga. He has 16 months remaining on his contract and has refused to sign a new one until his transfer situation is resolved. Eintracht will have to look into selling the player as they would like to cash in on some transfer fee instead of losing the player on a free transfer.
This season Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has repeatedly raved about the Bundesliga being Europe’s hotbed of talent. Arsenal are in desperate need of a quality midfielder who can get the ball and shield the backline.
Snatching Rode from under the noses of Bayern and Dortmund would be a coup — but more importantly it will be a big boost for the quality and depth of Arsenal’s squad.
