Anne Hathaway ‘threw a fit’ over Amanda Seyfried’s Oscar dress

Anne Hathaway has been the target of some vicious comments on the Internet lately, and despite her comments on the backlash affecting her, the criticism just continues to roll in.

After Anderson Cooper defended Anne Hathaway against the backlash, another report released by US Weekly states that Hathaway ‘threw a fit’ over her Oscars dress fiasco on Sunday. To quickly recap, Hathaway was supposed to wear Valentino for the Oscars. However, due to the fact that Amanda Seyfried’s custom Alexander McQueen was too similar to the Valentino she was going to wear, she instead decided to go with the much derided Prada gown instead. She issued a public apology this week for any embarrassment she may have caused Valentino, and everyone assumed that was that.

However, as US Weekly reports, when Anne did find out about Amanda’s dress, she did not take it well. It all went down at the Oscars dress rehearsals the day before the actual Oscars, and a source that was there said, “Anne was like ‘WTF?! She started throwing a fit!” However, the source adds that Anne, “never told Amanda she had to change the dress.” Another source added that the tantrum continued well into Oscar Sunday, saying, “Anne made the fashion, make up, hair, and jewelry teams wait at her home for hours as she decided what to do about the dress debacle.”

Many people are commenting that Anne should have kept the dress she originally planned to wear since it was her night to win the Oscars, not Amanda’s. In the end, it did end up causing a lot of trouble for the ‘Les Miserables’ actress on her big night, where she indeed went home with the Best Supporting Actress statuette.
