Anne Hathaway reveals weight loss issues
Anne Hathaway has revealed how she was told that she did not need to lose weight for her role in the movie Les Misérables. However, despite the fact that director Tom Hooper told her not to, Anne still went and lost around 25 pounds for the movie.
Hathaway explained to the Los Angeles Times newspaper, “Tom didn't like what I was doing, but he understood why I was doing it. No one liked what I was doing. By the end, people were hugging me, and they would get emotional because I felt so frail.” Anne also admitted that she likes to keep regular checks on her weight.
She added, “If I'm honest, yes. There's an obsessive quality to it that I thought I would've grown out of by now. It's an ongoing source of shame for me. I just think about the ridicule you get if you have an off day. If people weren't watching, I'd be so much more eccentric...I actually really don't feel like getting made fun of. So I put on something boring and navy and go out and try to disappear.”
Anne Hathaway can currently be seen on the big screen, starring alongside Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried and Russell Crowe, in Les Misérables, which was released in the US on Christmas Day and is set to be released in the UK on January 11, 2013.
